From Limerick to California: The Last Few Months on This Journey

The last couple of months have been very busy for me — all good though — and I feel incredibly grateful to see people feeling supported and encouraged on their own journey. Honestly, that is what keeps me going.
Here are some of the highlights from the past few months.
October – Pain Awareness Month

October is always a meaningful month for me. During Pain Awareness Month, I had the opportunity to speak on Spirit Radio, sharing a bit about this journey, and I also had my article featured in the Limerick Leader.
I am so grateful for both of these outlets for spreading the word and helping others feel seen.
The response truly touched my heart. I received so many messages from fellow warriors, their families, and friends, thanking me for bringing light to the struggles of those living with invisible illness — and also for bringing hope, so they too could find joy in the midst of their pain.
November – My First Trip to California

In November, I was off to California for the first time, and I was so grateful for the opportunity to speak and share my story at Stanford Bookstore, and to do a book signing on November 14th — the first of many more trips to come.
I was so honored to have this opportunity, and even more touched by the beautiful people I met. Knowing that people took time off work to come and meet me, listen to my story, and share their own meant so much to me. This is why it is so important to share our stories — it really does help others feel seen and gives them permission to step out in a bigger way and not hide or feel isolated on this journey.
San Diego – Facial Pain Association Support Group
While in San Diego, I was also the guest speaker for the Facial Pain Association support group, organised by the amazing Nora. This was another highlight of my journey — getting to meet fellow warriors and share my story, and how I am finding joy in the midst of the storm — not waiting for it to pass in order to enjoy being present.
Back in Ireland – Limerick City Library

Back in Ireland, on the 27th of November, I had the privilege of doing another talk at the Limerick City Library. I am so grateful for this opportunity to connect with the community, share more, and bring awareness.
Once again, I was deeply touched by those who attended, and especially by two wonderful ladies who drove all the way from Galway to hear me speak and meet me. They are also TN warriors, and this truly touched my heart.

Why I Keep Sharing
All of this continues to motivate me to keep sharing my story — whether through speaking engagements, my book, my podcast show, or here on this blog.
Thank you, my dear friend, for being part of this journey. Thank you for reaching out, sending me messages and texts, coming to these events, and supporting this cause. Because no one should feel invisible — and the more we are able to connect and share our stories, the more we help others not suffer in silence.
